Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Confessions

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
Today is: Top Ten Bookish Confessions

1. Sometimes I dog-ear a page, but I try not to very often!
2. I don't allow enough time inbetween books to think and reflect on the one I just read.
3. Sometimes I read way too fast and can't really absorb what I'm reading. It happens with books I just want to get through as well as books I'm really enjoying and just can't read fast enough!
4. I buy more books, even though I have shelves of unread ones.
5. I have been known to stay up way too late to finish reading a book, which can make it difficult to remember the ending.
6. I am always in the middle of at least 3 or 4 books at a time, sometimes as many as 8-10... (I keep books with me at most times: in my car, in my purse, at work...)
7. I feel guilty when I spend time watching movies/tv instead of reading.
8. I much prefer to own a book than to simply borrow it. This will be explained below.
9. I love underlining and marking up the books I read. (This is why I don't like borrowing books as much as owning them). I love writing notes in the margins and interacting with the text in this way. (This is a big reason why I don't do e-readers.)
10. I must take the dust jacket off to read it. It gets in my way and gets messed up otherwise.

I have always preferred owning book to borrowing books. If you own the book then you can read it as many time as you want whenever you want because it's within your reach. If I loved a book so much but I only had it on my nook, I will also buy a physical copy. Awesome confessions :) My TTT:

I much prefer to own a book. Don't like borrowing because I'm a constant re-reader.
